Robert Auxier Headshot

Robert Auxier has unparalleled experience in Online Marketing in the Internet space, with over 19 incredible years. While Seth Godin was focused on pioneering Email (Permission) Marketing, Robert Auxier immersed himself in the development of cutting edge Online Promotions, always pushing the envelope. It’s all about solving clients problems, regardless of the type of business, services, products, or just a cool application.

Like when The Weather Channel wanted to launch Weather.com. We create the "Blimp Site-ings", an online Instant-Win Sweepstakes, which linked watching the TV show with the site-ing of the Blimp over major U.S. cities.

Microsoft wanted to introduce a new online network called "MSN Network", they wanted a promotional vehicle that would really motivate people to register online and receive the disk in the mail. Not only was it successful, but we got them a staggering 164,476 new members during the coarse of the promotion. This successful launch, led us to also doing the launch of IE4 (Internet Explorer) with over 32 major partners.

Another notable product launch as "CyberCash" and "CyberCoin", the Internet’s first method of payment. As with all products on the Internet, the pioneers end-up with all of the arrows. There is always someone coming right behind you, once the path has been cleared. And, others behind them, mashing things up a bit and making an even better product.

We also had an Interesting relationship with DoubleClick, the banner Ad serving giant. They contracted us to develop promotional campaign’s to acquire as many people’s profiles as possible, so that they could marry the data with their offline partner Abacus. We developed and managed all of their campaigns for over a year and a half. This project halted when the USA Today broke the story about people’s privacy on the Internet.

And, back when Bizrate first started, they needed a hook to get people to complete their Survey after a purchase. They came to us to create and manage that aspect of their business. They had a great concept, but lacked the knowledge and ability to handle the promotional element of their business. We did all of their promotions for over 2 years. They ultimately brought the promotions in house.

Then there was Yahoo! Holiday 98, the truly the first year for real ecommerce on the Internet. Prior to this point in time, there was always an issue with the security on the Internet and if ones credit card information was safe. This promotion was extremely successful, with over 16 major retailers participating in the promotion. Remember, Yahoo! was the dominant player in portals and search at the time.

There was a time when AOL dominated the Internet. During their dominance, they wanted to re-launch their Travel Channel. We worked together with Travelocity and AOL to give people a reason to come back to AOL for their travel needs. It takes a certain skill set to step back from the forest, and create something that’s going to make a difference.

I’m sure you can remember the first Spy-Kids movie. It was a bit different, and certainly memorable. We worked together with Hi-C and Miramax Films to create a promotional vehicle for the release of the movie. The goal was to get kids from the first movie, to attend the second one. This one was a bit tricky, since we needed to follow the newly formed " COPPA Regulations" for children.

We also did many promotions for the NFL, with the most memorable one being for Superbowl XXXII with Lycos. You remember Lycos, they were in direct competition with Yahoo! This promotion was meant to motivate new Lycos visitors to set-up and customize their "Personal Guide". The top prize was a Trip for Two to Superbowl XXXIV in Atlanta Georgia, back in 2000.

And the most complex promotion that we ever did was for McDonald’s. This was the first gameboard on the Internet. We combined an Instant-Win, Collect & Win, multiple Sweepstakes, & Online Coupons to drive people back into the McDonald’s stores for redemption. This was 10 years before McDonald’s starting doing them at McDonald’s own website.

This was merely a handful of memorable promotions. If a client wanted to launch a new product or service, they contacted RealTIME Media, and this is where Robert Auxier’s marketing genius came into play.
